day 167: fireworks round 2 and big brother problems

so at the fair in mt. prospect at melas park, one of the prizes for the basketball game there was this huge, pink, DUKE basketball thing. haha it was quite strange to see a duke ball as the prize up here in illinois. maybe cuz we're national champs
4th of july! after church, i headed over to the vision center with connie and anna to hang out with some of the youth group kids who were playing basketball. i mostly just watched and took some pictures of some of the other people who were just hanging out in the gym, but after some of the yg guys finished their game… err dispersed after a “water break,” pj, brian jun, and i played a game of 21. while we were playing, a bunch of the yg kids left, and we ended up just calling it quits with the scores at 16, 13, and 8? something like that… and surprisingly, i was in the lead! haha it was only cuz brian jun missed his free throw at 20 points and dropped back down to 13 haha but anywho, afterwards, the yg kids were going to the beach, and my little brother asked me if he could take the car, and i said no, but i’d give them a ride if they needed it… to be honest… i got pretty upset with my younger brother that day… let me warn you, the next huge paragraph is mostly just a rant, so feel free to skip over it if you’d like haha
it seems like he thinks that my car is his car or that i have some obligation to let him drive it whenever he wants, or that if i don’t let him just take it, i have an obligation to give him a ride to wherever he wants to go. he kept giving me this exasperated look when i told him that he couldn’t take my car. ok so here’s how everything went down… i told him that i MIGHT go with them but that he couldn’t take my car… but then for some reason, a bunch of the other kids left to go like 10-15 minutes before we stopped playing basketball, and my little brother had told two kids that we could take them to the beach too… so when we stopped playing, i asked him what they were gonna do if i decided not to go to the beach, and he said, “well then i guess they’re gonna go home too” so basically he put me in a really crappy spot where i had to at least give them a ride, cuz i’m not gonna make two kids who aren’t my brother just go home and not get to go to the beach cuz of me… but then when we got out to the car, i found out that there were two other guys driving who were also going to the beach and each of them only had one other person in their cars… and then when we were standing at my car, my little brother was like… “oh, can we pick up grace on the way, too?” grace is his girlfriend, btw. sooooo we picked up grace and then i drove them to the beach, but i really didn’t wanna go to the beach that day, so connie and i just dropped them off and then went back near my house to caribou to read a little. jonny had told me that they were planning on going to the beach till about 5-5:30 and then they were gonna go to karaoke by about 6, and jonny had a 4th of july party to go to at 7. anyway… according to him, everyone was planning on leaving the beach by about 5, so at 4:15, he calls me and asks if i was gonna go pick them up at 5, so i asked if there was nobody else there who could give them a ride back, and he tells me that the rest of them decided not to karaoke and they were gonna stay till 6. i said that he should just come back at 6 with them anyway, and then he tells me that grace needs to be back by 5:15 at the latest and that he doesn’t want to ask ben for a ride back, because ben lives close to the beach and he doesn’t wanna make him drive “all the way” to our house (we live like 7 minutes from where ben lives and ben lives about 7 minutes from the beach… -..-) anyway, i got in an argument with him, because basically, he made me drive them to and from the beach only because he wanted his girlfriend grace there… he could’ve easily gotten a ride to the beach with one of the two guys who were leaving church at the same time as us, but he didn’t cuz he wanted to ask me to pick up grace on the way… and then he easily could’ve gotten a ride back with someone at 6, but then i needed to go drive another 15 minutes there and 15 minutes back cuz grace needed to be back by 5:15. and the worst part of all was that… he didn’t ask me if we could pick up grace till we were standing at my car and he also didn’t tell me she needed to be back by 5:15 till he called me asking for a ride back… ugh i was so frustrated… and then on top of all of that… he was arguing with me to justify himself and saying that it was partially my fault too…
i think i did a pretty good job of not yelling at him… i was just explaining to him why he was wrong and why he shouldn’t have done what he did and he kept arguing back that he wasn’t completely in the wrong… and at one point, he even said that i could’ve avoided all this mess if i’d just let him take my car… as if he was doing me a favor by taking my car -..- blegh… and it is true that connie could’ve driven us and i didn’t necessarily NEED my car, but part of the reason why i didn’t let him take it that day is because… it’s my car… and the past few weeks, i’ve noticed that he’s started to make plans on his own, expecting me to let him drive my car since connie can give me a ride when we go hang out after church, and he doesn’t actually wait to get my permission… i dunno… i’m trying to be a good older brother… and i feel like that doesn’t mean i always give him what he wants… but sometimes it’s hard to tell when i’m just being unreasonable and when i’m keeping him from being spoiled and overstepping his boundaries…
anywho, enough of my rant… after that whole ordeal, connie, jonny, and i came home. connie and i played some chain rxn on my computer (it was my first time) and then i cut up some mangoes, and then roger and shirley came over for a little while. and then when we left, shirley split from us cuz she went over to john park’s house with shim shady and maybe a few other people? and they were gonna go chill at john’s place, but roger, connie, and i went to melas park in mt prospect to watch fireworks there! we met up with chris sullivan and daniel chung and watched fireworks from an AMAZING spot. we were like right up close right in on the action, and i brought a tripod to try to catch some cool pictures of the fireworks that day
i also got eaten alive by mosquitoes while we were watching haha
after the fireworks, we went to denny’s where the ac was broken -..- fail… and they were like… understaffed and a lotta people in there complained… i felt really bad for the manager who seemed like a really nice guy and was really apologetic for the ac and the slow service, but some people were just really mean and rude anyway :\ it’s the 4th of july, people! a day when we’re supposed to celebrate our independence and all the freedoms we have in this country… i guess it’s those freedoms that taught us to be spoiled… :\ anyway, i felt really bad for the workers, too, so i tried to tip our waitress fairly generously, and i tipped this bus boy who was working his butt off and was sweating bullets cuz the ac was broken… honestly, when i left, i kinda regretted not giving him more… i only gave him a few bucks, but even like 1 or 2 more dollars would’ve made a huge difference… i learned to tip generously from my dad… and i love his reasoning. most of the time when you go out to eat at a place like denny’s or friday’s or even at the cheesecake factory or something, the difference between a 15% tip and 20% tip is like a dollar or two (especially if you’re only paying for one or two people) and the difference between a 20% tip and a 25% tip is a dollar or two… so to me… paying an extra dollar for a meal is NOT that big of a deal… paying an extra 2 dollars also is not a huge deal… but to the waiter or waitress, the difference between a 15% tip and a 25% tip is HUGE. so why not make someone’s day and make them happy when it costs you so little? i told connie this too, but when we were standing at the front of the restaurant waiting for the rest of our group to pay for their food, i wanted to yell at everyone in the restaurant and tell them to tip generously cuz it’s the 4th of july… but i chickened out… i regret that, too :\
round two of fireworks for independence day 2010
day 166: fireworks round 1
on saturday, after the missions meeting, we had a brief meeting amongst the leaders of the team to plan for our lock-in which is coming up in a week (july 10th) and to take care of some other planning stuff for the trip. after that, i went over to pastor jason’s house (our youth pastor) cuz the youth group was having a pot luck and then going to watch fireworks. kenneth, shirley, anna, and connie were all there, too. i was the last one to get there, and i bought some watermelon on the way and i also brought some peaches and strawberries and a veggie tray that was left over from our missions meeting.
hmmm the night as a whole was a lotta fun. i’m glad i’m around to get to hang out with these youth group kids and to help out where i can… i mean… honestly i haven’t really done much to actually help with any planning or anything for them, so i feel like i’m going just cuz it’s fun to hang out with them, but if pj ever asks me to help them out with anything, it’ll always help to have some kinda relationship with them first
yeah so we ate a buncha food… i didn’t really eat too much cuz i wasn’t that hungry, and then we went to the arlington track errrr near there to watch the fireworks. we got there about an hour before the fireworks started, and while we were waiting, some of the kids were playing boom-chicka-boom-boom (our yg kids love that game and they can play it for so long…) but those of us who didn’t wanna play that game played 20 instead
haha it was so fun, as usual, and we decided that we’d give a punishment to the first person to reach 20 strikes or to whoever had the most strikes when the fireworks started. and the punishment we chose was… i found this pretty big blade of grass that had like a buncha holes where bugs had eaten it and so the loser had to eat that blade of grass hahaha at first, it looked like kenneth was gonna be the loser, but then pj (pastor jason) caught up to him, mainly cuz he kept challenging esther, and she kept getting him to mess up hahaha it was pretty funny. so by the end, pj and kenneth actually were tied, so they had to eat the blade of grass TOGETHER! haha epic
and the fireworks were fun… it was the very first time that connie and i watched fireworks together, cuz we’ve never been together on the 4th of july… so that was pretty cool
after the fireworks, it took forever to drive back to church cuz traffic was terrible leaving that place, but we made it back safely. esther, jonny, and brian jun rode in my car, and on the way back, we played mad gab. everyone should have games in your car like catch phrase and mad gab. great idea, chris! haha
round 1 of fireworks for independence day 2010
day 165: grandpa’s day

this is a picture of my grandpa that my 할머니 has hung up at her place. she carries it with her whenever we get together to celebrate this day
friday was kind of a special family day, it was the anniversary of when my 할아버지 passed away… i never got a chance to meet him. he actually passed away when my dad was only 16… which is how old my little brother is now, but from what i hear, i think he was an awesome man… apparently, he was pretty small… like short and skinny but he was a boxer! haha lightweight of course, but yeah it would’ve been pretty cool to meet him… and i wonder how different i’d be… and how different my dad would be too o.O anywho, we get together every year to remember him and in the past few years, my dad and 할머니 and 고모s have shared a little bit about what they remember about him and stuff, so it’s nice
ermmm so in order to get ready for this get-together at my house for dinner, i went to my 할머니’s place at like… 4ish to pick her up and then we went to pick up some of the food from “asia super,” one of the korean grocery stores in the area… we bought 불고기, 돼지 불고기, 꽁치, and 고추… well i bought it cuz my 할머니 wanted to stay in the car haha anywho… the gas in my car was running really really low and it was a hot day, so i had to keep the ac on and the engine running since my 할머니 was waiting in the car… so i like dashed into the store and got everything as quickly as i could and paid for it and left… my dad had pre-ordered the 불고기 and 꽁치 and he ordered a LOT of it haha so it made it pretty quick… just had to get the 돼지 불고기 and 고추.
well anywho… i got back in the car and then we drove home and when we got home, i started washing dishes cuz our sink was full and we were gonna have to start cooking soon. oh yeah and on the way home, some of the 불고기 juice like… spilled out onto the back seat of my car… it was only a little, so no big deal, but i had to wipe that down… but i felt like i was just spreading it -..- haha anyways, so as i’m washing the dishes, my 할머니 is getting some other stuff ready and then a little later she starts pulling out the stuff from the grocery bags (she had also brought over some stuff) and then she pulls out the 돼지 불고기 and she’s like… what’s this? and my dad was standing in the kitchen, too… and then she was like… why did you buy the one that’s not marinated? haha well… since i was in a hurry when i was buying the stuff, i was looking through all the stuff in the meat section and i found this package of 고기 that was labeled 돼지 불고기… and i didn’t see anything else with that label… honestly… in my mind, i was like hmmm this doesn’t look like it’s marinated, but i bought it anyway… and of course it was the wrong thing, so my dad was a little upset and he sent me back to go get the right one… haha so after i finished washing the dishes, i got back in the car with like my almost empty tank of gas and went to return the one i bought and get the marinated one… fail…
so then i was just chillin and waiting for everyone else to get to our place, and joann, one of my younger cousins, was the only cousin who came, cuz jeannie had just had her baby, peter 형 was in vegas, and johnny 형 is in kenya, and paul is in l.a. so it was a pretty meager family gathering, BUT i hadn’t seen joann literally in years… haha i can’t believe how long it’s been… she spent the last year and a half or so in japan/korea/all over southeast asia going to school for design… and she was having a blast out there, and she finally got back at the beginning of 2010 and this was my first time seeing her! haha
after everyone got to our place, we sang a hymn in korean and my 할머니 prayed and then said a few words and then that was pretty much it… then we ate. it was fun, cuz since there weren’t too many of us, we all sat together at our dining table and ate. and the food was awesome, of course haha i love 불고기 and 돼지 불고기. kinda interesting story though… so while i was eating, i took a piece of 상추 and ripped it in half cuz it was one of the big ones, and i ate the top part with some 밥 and 고기 and then i reached for the bottom half of the 상추 and i was about to put my 밥 on it when i noticed this kinda… black-ish spot in this little part where the leaf was kinda folded over. it was down towards the bottom of the leaf, so it’s like where it’s kinda stiff. so i opened up that little part to see what it was, and there was a dead bug sitting right in there! i like jumped a little and the rest of my family saw me and they were like what is it? i didn’t wanna freak anyone out but… i had to tell them now cuz they all saw me react to it so i told them that there was a dead bug in my 상추 and i got up to throw it away. bleghhhh i’m so so so so sooooooo glad i saw that black spot and i didn’t just eat it… hahaha oh man it wasn’t even like a tiny little but… it was probably the size of a big fly or a small cricket… omg can’t even imagine what it would’ve tasted like if i just ate it without knowing it was in there…
ok so after dinner, we had some cool desserts… well we had ice cream from oberweis, which isn’t that cool… well i guess it’s literally cool
haha (connie, i know you like that one haha) but my 작은 고모 brought over these mochi 떡 things that were wrapped in some kinda leaves… i dunno exactly what kinda leaf it was but it was just like… 떡 with red bean paste in it and it was wrapped up in the leaves and tied up and stuff… anyway, it was pretty good. the 떡 kinda tasted like green tea too
and then after dessert we were all chillin and my 고모s were cleaning in the kitchen and our set of cutco knives was sitting on the kitchen counter, and my 작은 고모 was like… man you guys have a lot of these knives. i only have like 2 of them… and they’re the two smallest ones (the paring knife and spatula spreader) and so we talked a bit and i told them both that my dad bought a bunch of them from me when i was selling them cuz he was planning on giving them to real estate clients as gifts but he never did and i knew they were sitting around somewhere. anywho, i went and found them and i ended up giving each of them one of the chef’s knives and they didn’t wanna take it for free, cuz apparently, in korea, they say you’re not supposed to get a knife for free… so they paid my dad 10 dollars each for like a 90 dollar knife haha
sorry for giving away the knives you paid for, 아빠, but you weren’t really doing anything with them anyway haha
day 164: dinner with the pastor’s family
hmmm couple of interesting tidbits from thursday… after my dad got home from work, jonny, my dad, and i went out to lunch at tatami… at my dad’s suggestion… we need to stop eating at such expensive places… we paid like almost 60 dollars for lunch… blegh. anyway… that wasn’t the point… well i guess it’s somewhat related. if you remember, in my post about tuesday, i went to oberweis with connie and then i was gonna buy milk and ice cream there but i decided to get cheaper stuff from dominick’s instead… but then it was kinda fail cuz my dad had already bought oberweis stuff earlier that day. well anywho… at lunch or maybe on the way back from lunch, i remembered that, and so i brought it up with my dad and said that we should stop buying oberweis milk cuz it’s like double the price of regular milk, and his response kinda took me by surprise…
first, he said, “we started buying oberweis milk because of your mom. after we moved near there, she told me to buy that milk for you guys because it was better…” and so i said, yeah i mean i know it’s better but i just don’t think it’s worth paying twice as much for higher quality milk… but then my dad’s response to that was just, “그래도 그냥 계속 살레” and so i just left it at that. for those non-korean speakers out there, he said “still, i just wanna keep buying it.” it’s crazy how things as simple as milk and ice cream, and not even just those products but like, buying the oberweis brand of those products can have such sentimental value… my dad keeps buying it and paying the extra money because that’s one way that he’s reminded of my mom and one way that he feels like he’s doing well in taking care of us… cuz that’s what she always wanted him to do for us while she was around. anyway… i miss my mom… and i love my dad. honestly, i kinda wish he would remarry cuz i can tell he gets lonely at times and it’s gotta be extra tough on him just not having a companion… but at the same time i’m thankful that he still loves my mom that much
ok anywho, after lunch, i chilled at home and then we went out to eat dinner with this pastor’s family.. it’s the pastor who has been preaching for my dad’s congregation lately… i think he’s just an interim pastor, but i could be wrong. anywho, it was the pastor and his wife and his two kids (son and daughter) and also 3 of their nieces and nephews from korea who are visiting for the summer (2 nieces, 1 nephew), so there was a total of 10 of us… 3 little girls, two little boys, my little brother, me, and then my dad and the pastor and his wife. honestly, before the dinner, i was kinda dreading it because there was nobody else my age and everyone was gonna be talking in korean and yeah… but it turned out to be pretty fun. it would’ve been bad if the kids were like… either really shy or really needy and spoiled but they were neither… they managed pretty well on their own without bothering the pastor and his wife and they had a lotta fun by themselves. out of all of us, the 3 little girls were the craziest haha they had fun just talking and doing crazy little kid things haha but it was fun to watch
anywho, it was good exercise for my korean skills… cuz they’re not too good at english and i also tried to talk to the pastor and his wife, too… so yeah i had to stretch myself a little bit that night
we went to maggiano’s for dinner and for reservations of more than 8 people or something, you have to order family style, which is basically like… everything you order is bottomless, but it costs $20 per adult and $10 per child, but it ends up being somewhat worth it cuz all the stuff left on the table at the end, you can get packed and take home
anywhoooo the food was good as always and then afterwards, we went to bakersville for dessert. jonny and i shared a 과일빙수 which was like… wayyyy too sweet… too much of the fake candy-ish syrup and not enough real fruit
but s’ok… and while we were at bakersville, i saw YELEE! haha yeah not so exciting for probably just about everyone who reads this… but she was one of the older sisters in youth group when i was in jr. high/high school, she’s… 3 years older than me, i think, and i haven’t seen her in ages… haha she’s been in korea for the past year or two i think and she’s here back in school to get a degree in education policy! anyways, it was awesome to get to see her again
day 163: visiting jeannie 누나, jason, and the kids

sophie being silly and pretending to put on a shoe that goes on her baby doll haha she's such a cutie...
on wednesday, after my dad got home from work, we went to go visit my cousin jeannie and the new baby at the hospital. and i was kinda surprised to find that selah was actually sitting in a little bed thing right in the room with jeannie 누나. anyway… like i wrote in the last post, the baby was born on tuesday, so she was only a day old, and she was so cute! haha so clean and like… normal looking for a premature baby that was only a day old… i mean… babies are cute but usually they look a little weird at least the first few days or so after they’re born, especially if they’re premature, but yeah she was the best looking 1-day old baby ever haha and as always it was fun playing with sophie… it makes me so happy when she gets all excited when we go visit
i got a few really cute pictures of her.. man… she’s growing up so fast… she’s already 2 and now she’s an older sister and everything… eek!
unfortunately, at the end of our visit, sophie got hurt… she was running through this curtain thing in the hospital room… and one time while she was running through, she ran a little too close to the wall, and since she was running through the curtain, she didn’t see the sink on the other side and she’s like just barely tall enough for her head to reach the sink… so she banged her head on it :\ it actually swelled up pretty bad… but she refused to put an ice pack on it
i hope she’s alright now… anyways… it was a good visit and i hope i’ll get to play with both of them again soon and go help jeannie 누나 out some since i’m unemployed and all… haha
after the visit, i went to college group bible study, and it was kenneth’s birthday! so we met a little early to sign a birthday card for him… and we had a good ole time and had some cookie/cupcakes that anna made (they have cookie dough in the middle of the cupcake o.O it was good! i’m gonna have to try making them sometime) and we also signed a get well soon card for grace chong who broke her hip a few weeks ago… we were supposed to go pay her a visit after bible study, but it was too late so we decided to postpone till sunday. anyways, happy birthday, kenneth! and grace chong ch-chong, hope you get well soon so you can come play with us again
day 162: welcome to the world, selah :)

when we were at church chillin, i whipped out my camera and took some pictures and got to play around with my flash a bit. this is anna, and this picture was taken by her suggestion haha
biggest news of the day?! june 29th is officially the birthday of my new niece, selah cho! my oldest cousin jeannie’s second baby girl arrived at about 2pm on tuesday after induced labor, just a few days before her older sister’s birthday… (they were actually both due on the SAME date, july 4th, which is my cousin paul’s birthday… isn’t that crazy? haha) anywho, congrats to jason and jeannie 누나, the new proud parents of a second daughter! now it’s time for all of us to get on that p90x so we can work out and get in shape together! haha
so this morning/early afternoon, i tutored justin and grace, and tutoring justin actually went by surprisingly quickly
we didn’t get through as much material as i’d hoped, but when we were going through some stuff, i looked at my phone and it was already 11:33 (we were supposed to go from 10-11:30) so we stopped right there. always good to have time fly by while you’re teaching
after tutoring justin, i stopped by at the fresh market near his house to get some watermelon cuz we finished the rest of ours at home, but none of them were big enough to buy, so i settled for some mangoes instead… and while i was getting the mangoes, they were like… stacked in a pyramidal type thing on this table, and then while i was trying to pick the good ones, i actually like.. made one side of it crumble… so there were like 7-8 mangoes that just rolled down off the table… hahaha kinda embarrassing, but meh… oh well… gotta get the good fruit
ok so after getting the fruit, i went to grace’s place to tutor her, and it was quite the opposite of what happened at justin’s place… she was really like… not in the mood to study… not that she ever really was excited about tutoring in our past lessons, but she was so uncooperative today and it was pretty tough… i was starting to get impatient with her and she started getting upset, but i feel like she’s one of those people who has been given stuff if she complains and whines enough (she’s an only child and her mom thinks she can do no wrong), so i wasn’t about to give in to her complaining and just let her off easy… but we got through it
after tutoring, and after connie finished work, she came over and we were gonna go read at caribou, but we decided to read at oberweis instead. we shared some thing that was basically like… a blizzard or a mcflurry or something… just soft serve with reese’s mixed in. i didn’t realize till recently how crazily expensive oberweis is… haha i mean… i knew it was more expensive than regular milk or ice cream, but just didn’t realize just HOW MUCH more expensive. (for those of you who don’t know, oberweis is like… a milk/dairy place where they use like high-quality milk from smaller farms that have like really high standards for how they raise their cows and stuff… like… they use no steroids or growth hormones and treat their cows really well and stuff… and you can in fact taste the difference in the milk!) anyway, we needed more milk and ice cream at home and i was gonna buy it from there, cuz we always get oberweis milk, but then i was like.. hmmm we should start saving money… and it’s not worth it to buy this stuff for double the price of regular milk (2.99 for half a gallon and the ice cream is 5.99 per quart but buy 3 get 1 free) soooo after we did some reading, i was so tired and i was falling asleep… so we left there after about an hour and decided to do some grocery shopping at dominick’s so i could get some cheaper milk and ice cream
after i bought my stuff, we went home in time to pick up my little brother and go to a youth group hang out thing where they were gonna go bowling, so i went in to put the groceries away only to find that my dad had already bought milk and ice cream from oberweis earlier that day…. -..- fail… haha but anywho, we picked up my little bro and headed to church, and then we all went to go eat at chipotle and then went to classic bowl to go bowling… only to find that the bowling lanes were all booked by a league and some party that was gonna take up like 20 lanes…
SOOO then we went to plan b.. we went to flick park to play softball, and when we got there, the kids were all playing around and then jonny was playing catch with his girlfriend grace, who is a softball player, and they like went ahead of the rest of us throwing the ball to each other and i went over this hill and heard some commotion… only to find that my little brother missed a catch and let the ball go into the pond… fail… and then instead of jonny going in to get it, grace kicked off her sandals and fetched the ball out of the water…
and then we finally got to the field and while shirley was trying to gather the youth groupers together, i wanted to hit a few balls, so i asked connie to pitch to me, but she threw about 2 balls and they were both way off, so i just tossed the ball up to myself and then i smacked it… only to find that the ball went straight up the middle back at connie… and it hit her right in the shoulder…. FAIL
ugh… i felt so bad… and i could tell it really really hurt and she was pretty upset with me for a bit :\
anywho… we played softball for like… 45 minutes before it got dark and we had to head back, so we went to church and we just chilled and talked there… and some of the kids played boom chicka boom boom (those kids included my lovely girlfriend, connie haha) and then we called it a night
day 161: wings and bowling

i was actually pretty impressed by how well connie played
haha she's not great yet but she's gotten a lot better since the last time i saw her pick up a guitar!
mmm so usually when connie and i work out together, we do it at my place cuz she just comes over right after she finishes at lakeview, but whenever we work out at my place i know my dad feels a little bit uncomfortable… cuz our condo isn’t that big… and it’s not like we have a separate floor for the bedrooms or something… so normally in the summer he sits at his desk without his shirt on but when she comes over or whenever anyone comes over he has to wear a shirt and he also is like… more wary of going to get food from the kitchen or whatever… so anywho… she’s been coming over a lot lately so i decided to give my dad a break and let him have the house free for a change haha so we went over to connie’s place to work out instead.
i hadn’t eaten anything all day (it was like 4pm by this point… i dunno why i didn’t eat… o.O) so before we worked out, i ate like 2.5 everything bagels with strawberry cream cheese. mmmm bagels with cream cheese are so good… probably not the healthiest food to eat before you work out, but it was probably good for me to get at least some carbs in my system before i worked out. monday is normally supposed to be chest and back day, but i was actually like one day ahead on the schedule (really cuz i was 6 days behind from the week before…) so monday i did plyo! connie told me that i should bring shoes to work out cuz we were doing plyo and her floor in her living room is a hard floor (not carpeted), but of course i didn’t listen… haha i was gonna take shoes, but it was just too much stuff to carry out of my house… so i left them behind. she was worried that it would make my calves and the arches of my feet sore, but that wasn’t the issue… by the end of the work out (i barely made it through), the inside parts of my big toes were soooooo raw :\ not TOO big of a deal but it was pretty uncomfortable :\
ok so after we ate and watched some big bang theory and worked out… we decided to go bowling, so connie texted a few people and invited them but we had about an hour to kill so we watched some tv and connie played guitar for a little while! haha unfortunately… i can’t play guitar so i couldn’t help her with chords she didn’t know and stuff.. but… hopefully we’ll both learn and practice and get awesome
haha anywho… when we went bowling, nobody else came so it was just me and m’lady haha. last summer, when we went bowling with a bunch of church people, there were a lot of occasions when everybody left after like 4-5 games and then connie and i bowled for another hour or so afterwards… i think the most we bowled together in one night was probably about 10 games haha. on monday, we didn’t quite get that far… we did about 6 games i think, and it was pretty sad… i think she won 4 of them
haha i was missing my spots all day and connie’s actually a very good bowler, so if i’m off… i’m not gonna beat her haha i think this was the first time that she won the majority of the games when it was just the two of us. anyways, besides the bowling, we also enjoyed a plate of 20 wings, cuz they have 25cent wings at eskape on sunday and monday nights and they were actually pretty good
we tried 5 of all 4 different sauces and they wasn’t really one that stood out as like an awesome one… but the teriyaki one was really really salty… so not gonna go for that one again. haha anywho… i think we’re gonna go there for wings and bowling more often on monday nights
oh yeah… out of the 20 wings i think i ate 14-15 of em o.O haha
